A little over a week has passed since Christmas Day, when many of us celebrate the birth of Jesus by giving gifts and spending time with family and close friends. This year was the first thing I actually bought something for myself with the money I gratefully received around Christmastime, and I am LOVING what I’ve got! These Amazon items are not only sold at a fair price, but they are also simple, useful, and lightweight! Here are 3 items for your next shopping spree.
Tapaxis Noise-Cancelling Headphones
I remember trying on my dad’s pair of Bose headphones one day out of curiosity - he had bought his headphones while on sale before a work trip and has used them constantly ever since. While I would have loved a pair of Bose headphones, one pair costs hundreds of dollars. As a college student, I would rather save that amount of money toward things like gas and groceries and look for something cheaper. This was when I searched Amazon for a decent-looking pair of noise-canceling headphones, and I came across Tapaxis.
For less than $50 on Amazon, these hybrid wireless/Bluetooth headphones are collapsible, adjustable, comfortable, and very easy to use. When bought on Amazon, these headphones also come with a black zipper case, an auxiliary cord, a charging cord (c-port), and an adapter so that you can charge with a laptop or another c-port device. I find these headphones to be very similar to my dad’s Bose headphones while at a much more comfortable price. The buttons on the side work perfectly, and these headphones can go a very long time without needing to charge! They work great for phone calls as they have a built-in microphone, and the sound quality is wonderful. As someone with sensory issues, I use these headphones to cancel out the noise just enough so that I can still hear louder noises while the sound is off - these are the only pair of headphones I’ve ever felt comfortable wearing with both ears covered.

Simple Modern Stainless Steel Water Bottles
I am very picky when it comes to water bottles, especially with the amount that I’m often carrying around with a bunch of other things. For me, the right water bottle has to be completely leakproof, easy to wash, and preferably insulated. When I first saw the Simple Modern water bottles, I wasn’t sure about buying one because it wouldn’t be as efficient as I’d hoped. Needless to say, I was very wrong!
The Simple Modern water bottles are lightweight, leakproof, cost-efficient, and so much more! Their website shows a variety of styles, colors, and sizes of bottles that can be customized… and, they’re all 10% off when you enter your email! Simple Modern also sells bags, kid-friendly items, food containers, and several accessories.
My favorite Simple Modern water bottle is the Summit Insulated Stainless-Steel Bottle. It comes with a regular straw and a filter straw (and the lid, of course), is leakproof, and can be bought in fourteen different colors on Amazon. I use this water bottle all day, every day now - it is so easy to put into my backpack, has a handle for carrying, and keeps my drinks cold for hours.

Miniware Ultrasonic Dental Cleaner
Since getting my braces off 5 years ago, I’ve been wearing a clear top retainer while I’m asleep to keep my teeth straight. While I’ve had it cleaned once at my dentist's office before, it hasn’t truly been clean in quite a while. I gently clean my retainer after use and soak it in water with denture cleaning tablets every so often, yet there is always a little bit of buildup that won’t come off. Instead of buying a new retainer, I decided to try an ultrasonic cleaner from Amazon, and I am very satisfied with the results!
This Miniware 20mL Portable Ultrasonic Dental Cleaner that I purchased comes with several different cleaning items, a strainer to protect your item, a plug-in cord, and the cleaning container itself. With the push of one button after following a couple of simple setup instructions, the container easily and quietly cleans the item inside with UV light and sonic waves. The cleaning cycle is finished after only 5 minutes, and the device shuts off on its own. You can use this device to not only clean dental appliances but also a variety of jewelry. This product has been game-changing for the look and feel of my retainer, and I will definitely be using it on jewelry sometime in the near future.
